The first strategic initiative of Carolina Next is \u201cBuild Our Community Together.\u201d<\/p>

The objectives of this initiative are:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

  1. Together create conditions on campus that enable each other to thrive and feel like we all belong.<\/p><\/li>

  2. Enhance the educational benefits of diversity and inclusion through effective retention, recruitment and enrollment.<\/p><\/li>

  3. Prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion in teaching, research and service as well as in hiring, evaluation and promotion.<\/p><\/li><\/ol>

    Numerous forums were held with faculty, staff and students in late 2019 to determine what the priorities of this initiative should be.
