The entire campus community is invited to participate in these trainings, which offer insight into how best to support and better understand one another. Its goals are to train members of the Carolina community to know more\u00a0about\u00a0 the issues and concerns faced by military affiliated students and\u00a0to identify individuals who are available to assist this population. These individuals are not expected to be experts\u00a0who can \u201csolve problems.\u201d They are individuals who can lend a\u00a0sympathetic ear and help the student veteran identify and connect with the appropriate resources.<\/p><p>Participants who complete the training will receive a sign to display in their office and have their name listed on our website as having completed the training.\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">All participants must register\u00a0for the Green Zone Training. It provides students, faculty, staff and postdoctoral fellows with tools to be an ally to someone who has experienced sexual or interpersonal (relationship) violence or stalking. The three-hour training emphasizes the importance of listening, responding compassionately, and connecting survivors to resources on campus and in the community.\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">After successfully completing the HAVEN training, participants will receive a placard that can be displayed on their office door, residence hall room door, laptop, or backpack. In\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailytarheel.com\/article\/2013\/09\/support-the-north-carolina-one-state-one-rate-campaign\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2013<\/a><\/strong>, Emilio Vicente and Pablo Friedmann launched the \u201cOne State One Rate\u201d campaign to grant in-state tuition to undocumented students.\u00a0In the years since, student- and staff-led organizing around the rescission of DACA, local ICE raids, and other violations of immigrant rights led the Office of the Executive Vice Provost to create the DACA\/Undocumented Resource Team.<\/p><p>With support from the Resource Team, the UNC Humanities for the Public Good Initiative and UNC Global,\u00a0<b>UndocuCarolina<\/b>\u00a0was founded in 2018 to open spaces of learning and dialogue for our campus and larger community. By bringing together different disciplinary approaches from across the humanities (educational, artistic, literary, journalistic), UndocuCarolina aims to examine and better appreciate the contours of present day immigration policy and the causes and consequences of living undocumented.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
